Izecom introduces email encryption for webmail. With the new Izemail Web product users can read and write encrypted email in their webmail account (hotmail, gmail or any other). This completes the Izecom product range, which already included gateway and desktop solutions. With the latest addition, Izemail users can read their encrypted email in their favorite internet café.

Izecom strongly believes that email encryption is an infrastructure issue. Rather than encrypting only the occasional ?confidential? message, Izemail aims at encrypting all email. This approach has three advantages:

* it requires considerably less user interaction

* it is easier to manage for IT staff

* there is less risk of the occasional confidential message slipping through

Only encryption of all incoming and outgoing gives a full protection of your email traffic. Moreover, putting email encryption in the email infrastructure makes securing email easier for end users and removes thresholds for encrypting email.

The new Izemail Web product completes the product offering by allowing users to read encrypted mail from within any webmail environment. By just clicking the encrypted email (which is shown as an attachment by all webmail systems), you open the message for reading and replying. This is particularly useful for two categories of users. First, those who routinely use email encryption on their desktop but occasionally choose to read their email in an internet café or similar environment Second, those who exclusively use webmail, as a groing number of people do today. Izemail Web, together with a usb token containing your Digital ID is the ideal travelers tool for email encryption.

Izemail uses S/MIME and is compatible with any other encryption product that uses S/MIME. Izemail works with Digital IDs or certificates stored on tokens or smartcards. Izemail works with any mail environment, leaving your current email procedures in place.
