Practicing techniques and technical pieces such as cramer is VERY important.

While practicing technique, make sure that you place ALL your arm strength on your fingers, transferring the weight on each note, while keeping your hand arch and fingers firm. This will strengthen your finger and hand muscles greatly while producing great tone.

You should be practicing 15-20 minutes of technique every single day to improve your piano skills.

Sorry that this has been my first piece of advice in a year, but I havent had the time to post anything, as high school is very busy.

Question, comments, concerns? wacko.gif unsure.gif ohmy.gif Leave a comment or leave a message in my inbox! happy.gif wink.gif

If you keep on making mistakes at a certain place at a piece, stop playing and just concentrate on that measure or line. Once you get that part perfect, you can play the whole piece together.

Post a comment if you have questions!

Sorry guys, I forgot to put up the tip of the week, so I'll just post it today...

This week's tip of the week is very simple, but very effective:

EXAGERRATE the dynamics of a piece, so it sounds better. So if the piece says to play forte, then play fortemissimo.

After you feel comfortable with playing a piece with the pedal, each time you practice, don't practice with the pedal, to make sure you are still playing legato. It really helped for me and it made me play a piece way better! Try it out!

Again if you have questions on my tips or on playing the piano, leave a comment!!!

Sorry, I wasn't able to post a tip last week because I was very busy sad.gif

The week's tip of the week is:

I find it that you can play a piano piece better if you practice it a certain way You should first practice the ending to make it more rememorable because the ending is the place where the audience will most likely remember. Then you should practice the beginning and make sure that you play everything the composer wrote down. The beginning captures the audience's attention, so therefore, it is very important to. Finally, you should practice the middle. Make sure that you don't make any mistakes, you play the right tempos. and you play the expressions.

I hope you find this tip useful! biggrin.gif

You can leave comments!

I've decided that I will give a piano tip of the week every Sunday. This week's tip of the week is:

When you play a piece with repetitive rhythms, I find that it sounds better if you play accents on the first note of the first group, then play an accent on the second note of the second group, and then play and accent on the third note on the third group and so on.

I hope this piece of advice helps you! Again, if you have any questions on playing piano, leave a comment. Also, you can comment on my advice. Thank you! laugh.gif
